Between the lines

People can’t read between the lines. They listen, but don’t hear and take all the words directly in ad verbum. They look at the world we live in through the long narrow telescope with the ever-closed left or right eye. They look at something and think ‘I see this thing and I consider this is a good thing’. Or bad, beautiful, ugly, interesting, funny, frightening, cruel, kind, miserable, strong, ordinary, origin, strange, old, fashioned, red, wooden, crystal, odd, obscured, soft, inexplicable, complicated, simple, easy, hard and so on and so forth limitlessly. But this kind of telescope is just a telescope. It sees the one tiny piece of the world. That’s why the adjective is always one and only. Nobody can think long and composite sentences out, except writers of course. As for the writers, they also have their own subjective vision.Well, telescopic view doesn’t let people think wide and deep. People who think they are many-sided persons, probably, more than the others go down with this narrow-vision syndrome. And, of course, they have the longest telescopes.People can’t read between the lines. They take everything in straight and directly view. Somebody tells them ‘thirst’ and they imagine water. They hear ‘I’ll come, maybe’ and think ‘Certainly, he’ll come!’ and don’t notice the other part of the sentence ‘Probably, he won’t come’. The news tells them it’s going to rain, people moan ‘It’s ruined the whole weekend!’. They see Coco Chanel or a widow’s weed in a ‘black dress’. Also, there are Goths… But subculture members own the most narrow tubes. Short or long, but always too narrow… Someone says ‘mother’ and people imagine a woman with a child or a pregnant woman sometimes. A desert is often a hell of a lot of sand to people. The North is always a goddam frozen earth. The South is Hawaii. Walls are usually bricks or the other building materials. If you tell them ‘I want you’, they can hear ‘I love you’. If you tell them ‘I don’t like apple flavors’, they ask ‘You don’t like apples?’. If you say ‘people’, they’ll imagine mankind.Perhaps, this is the reason why people was so easy imposed upon world religions, cults, sects, politics, laws, beliefs, creeds, conditions, desires, needs, thoughts, deeds…Maybe, it because of long, narrow tubes is so easy to force people trusting anyone, listening anything, doing everything……to force keeping traditions……to believe in standard merits……to eat chocolate bars……to read screen adaptations……to wear fashion shoes……to drink a special kind of soda……to be unique……to constrain to smoke or to constrain giving up smoking……to eat pop-corn certainly during the movie……to allow and then to forbid cursing……to make people shaving pubises and rubbing with antiperspirants……to train shopping at certain time……to compel working for peanuts and idling away for millions……to put jeans on three-year children……to laugh at the same idiocy like the others……to wear fancy parkas……to convince feeling fear……to mingle with the city……to ring ourselves with illusions and believe in them……to be afraid of the other people…
